Carburation

Gasoline is the name of the corporation for the process by which the gasoline is divided into small droplets for easy combustion and is mixed with the appropriate amount of clean air. The device that accomplishes this action is named carburettor.

Venturi System

The venturi system is set to produce the same amount of gasoline from the Nozzle. It works on the following philosophy. "When the pressure decreases the velocity increases and the velocity decreases, the pressure increases."

Venturi is less in diameter at the centre and more in diameter at the apex. It is located in the carburettor mixing chamber, which helps to absorb gasoline from the carburettor reel float chamber. Located in the venturi area of ​​the Fuel nozzle's outlet, the gasoline is absorbed through the nozzle and mixes with the air coming in, causing the gasoline air mixture.

Carburettor

The carburettor is a key component in the petrol engine. It evaporates liquid gasoline and mixes it with air and sends it to the engine cylinder.
  1. The carburettor receives gasoline in the fuel tank and always stores it in the float chamber.
  2. It divides gasoline into automatization.
  3. The atomic gasoline is converted to evaporation and mixed with air at an appropriate rate.

  5. When the engine is idling, it mixes less gasoline with air.

Requirements of Carburettor

  2. The engine should be easy to start in cold or hot temperatures.

Types of Carburettor

1. According to the direction on airflow

a) Down draught Carburettor: In this way, the air flows upwards and downwards towards the induction manifold. This is fitted directly above the induction manifold. The down draught carburettor is commonly used in most cars. In this case, gravity allows air to be absorbed from the top down and blended with gasoline.

b) Side-draught Carburettor: The gasoline air mixture in the side draught carburettor passes from one side to the other. It is mounted on the side of the induction manifold.

c) Up-draught Carburettor: In which the gasoline air mixture moves from the bottom upwards to the induction manifold. It is mounted below the induction manifold.

d) Semi-draught Carburettor: Down draught and side draught are both combined. In this way, the mixture of gasoline air flows slightly.

2. According to the working of the carburettor

a) Constant choke carburettor: In this way the area of ​​the orifice is unchanged and the pressure is transferred to the venturi only. Carter, Solex and zenith are these types of carburettors.

b) Constant vacuum carburettor: The surface area of ​​the Constant vacuum carburettor Orifice is changed and the pressure difference depends on the type of carburettor running. S.U carburettor depends on this type.

3. According to the number of barrels

a) Single barrel carburettor: Single barrel carburettor is commonly used in 4 cylinder engines. It has only one barrel. Contains This includes the fuel jet, venturi, choke valve and throttle valve.

b) Dual or multiple barrel carburettor: In this way, each barrel is provided with the necessary parts for the system and each barrel is individually connected to the inlet manifold. With this arrangement, the amount of fuel-air entering the cylinder is constant.

Simple Carburettor

A simple carburettor is a carburettor that can be used to partially mix the fuel-air mixture to suit the different motion of the engine without much technology. It consists of the following parts.
  1. Float chamber.
  2. Venturi or choke tube.
  3. Main jet.
  4. Choke valve.
  5. Throttle valve.

1.Float chamber

In the float chamber, afloat and a needle valve is provided. Generally, the float is made of thin copper foil or plastic and the interior is vacuumed for weight loss. The gasoline from the fuel pump is attached to the upper part of the float chamber. The gasoline then rises to the top of the float until it reaches the required level when entering the float chamber. Petrol inside the chamber When filled, the needle valve blocks the gasoline path. Similarly, when the gasoline level drops, the float drops and opens the gasoline path through the needle valve. Thus, getting into the gasoline chamber. Thus, the level of chamber pool gasoline is maintained uniformly.

The amount of gasoline in the float chamber is 5 mm lower than the nasal height. This prevents gasoline from flowing automatically when the engine is not running or when the vehicle is on the highway.

The throttle valve is used to control the combustion of gasoline and air entering the engine. The valve is attached to the accelerator pedal through appropriate links. The throttle valve opens when the driver pedal is pressed.

During the engine suction stroke, the air is absorbed rapidly through the air cleaner. The venturi has a very narrow cross-section of the air passageway. The velocity of the air increases as the wind passes this venturi area.

The velocity of the wind increases. This reduces the pressure on the nozzles in the venturi area. Atmospheric pressure works in the Float chamber. Due to this pressure difference, the gasoline exits through the nozzle. The exhaust gasoline is then mixed with air and passed through the throttle valve to the inlet manifold inlet valve. The choke valve closes via the choke cable when starting the engine in cold weather. This results in greater pressure difference and more gasoline flowing through the nozzle. So, the rich mixture needed for starting is available.
